This afternoon, join us for an included excursion: Avignon and the Papal Palace. The imposing fortress and luxurious Papal Palace symbolizes the power of the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages. It is one of the largest and most important Gothic buildings in Europe and the city’s most famous attraction. Take a step back in time as you stroll through the immense halls, contemplate the beauty of the chapels, and visit the papal apartments. After, we'll enjoy a tasting of some local wines before returning to the ship.
This evening, indulge in a festive dinner of specialties from the Camargue region followed by an evening of music by the Guitares de Camargue, a lively local counterpart to the Gypsy Kings.

This morning, the included excursion is a tour of the Château de Grignan and a visit to a truffle farm. The tour begins on the castle terrace with a dominant view of the beautiful city below. The style of the castle terrace and gardens, dating back to the 12th century, are duplicated throughout the region. The castle was rebuilt in the 20th century after having been demolished during the French Revolution. Our next stop will be a truffle farm. We'll partake in a traditional truffle hunt with sniffer dogs before we have a taste of what the farm has to offer.
