Our arrival in Honfleur will depend on the tides.
This morning, the included excursion is on a walking tour of Honfleur—the cradle of Impressionism—where Boudin, Monet, Bazille, and Jongkind stayed at the famous Saint-Simeon farm, each attempting to replicate the changing light of the estuary.
This afternoon, join us for an included excursion: Étretat, Fécamp, and the Côte d'Albâtre, with its magnificent white cliffs lined with pebble beaches. These are the sites to see for anyone who admires Impressionist paintings. Here, Monet painted La Porte d'Aval in rough weather and a beautiful snow-covered landscape; Courbet executed his series of waves; Caillebotte brought Pere Magloire to life as he strolled the road in Étretat; and Boudin produced works at the end of his life focusing only on light. We'll also enjoy a taste of fine spirits at the Palais Bénédictine in Fécamp.
We'll return on board the ship. Our ship will begin to cruise. We'll pass under the superb Normandy Bridge before returning to the river.
