Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we'll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail before dinner. Our ship will begin to cruise towards Saint-Nazaire.

The included excursion this morning is to the coastal city of Saint-Nazaire (you will need a valid form of ID at the time of reservation and the day visiting the site). Take a trip back in time at a submarine base. Discover fabulous transatlantic ocean liners. A tour of a shipyard is a fascinating glimpse into the beginning-to-end construction of giant seafaring vessels. During an exclusive tour of a marine workshop, you'll get an up-close view of the impressive skills needed during ship construction.(4) After our excursion, we’ll return on board for lunch. We’ll spend the afternoon cruising to Nantes, leaving the estuary where Saint-Nazaire lies to cruise along the Loire River. Remarkable scenery full of wildlife and gorgeous landscapes line the Loire riverbanks. Take advantage of some downtime by enjoying the panoramic views from the Sun Deck. Enjoy an included excursion in the evening: A tour in a local boat on the Erdre River. Above and beyond its natural wonders, this magnificent river is a veritable history book in a truly exceptional setting. Tiny ports and impressive castles, manors, and homes dot our journey.

This morning, join us for an included guided tour of Nantes and the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany. You’ll fall in love with Nantes as soon as you step off our ship. The city’s remarkable architecture transports us back to centuries gone by. Sumptuous homes take center stage in the medieval and Renaissance quarters, and Anne of Brittany will welcome us behind the imposing ramparts concealing her grand, refined palace.
This afternoon, the included excursions are the Muscadet Wine Route and the medieval village of Clisson. Join us for a surprising itinerary of gorgeous panoramas and interesting visits. We’ll stop at the Château Cassemichère to discover its historic vineyard. The small town of Clisson and its beautiful landscapes are in a class all their own. Stroll the streets to take in its Tuscany-like ambiance and tangible hospitality.

We'll spend the morning cruising to Chalonnes-sur-Loire. Relax as you take in what is known as the “last wild river in Europe.” Despite the centuries used to transport merchandise, the river remains little changed.

Included excursion in the afternoon: Visit the historical sections of Angers and see the legendary Apocalypse Tapestry. The birthplace of House of Plantagenet still dominates the Loire Valley. The medieval fortress towers above the flourishing Renaissance city. Within lies the extraordinary Apocalypse Tapestry, guarded under dim lights as treasure it is. You'll pass through the impressive castle walls to experience this monumental tapestry. At the end of our tour, you’ll receive a gift bag with a local sweet known as Quernons d’Ardoise and a miniature bottle of Cointreau.

Today will be dedicated to an offered full-day excursion to the Châteaux of the Loire Valley. Set out for magnificence. You’ll experience the unforgettable splendor of the castles and gardens dotting the Loire Valley. Perhaps once just a childhood dream, they are now within your reach. We'll begin with the historic Château d’Azay-le-Rideau, sitting on an island in the middle of the Indre River. The water delicately reflects its graceful Renaissance style. After lunch, enjoy a walk through the lovely gardens at the Château de Villandry. Set in an ancient meadow surrounded by linden trees, the gardens reflect the charm found in the area throughout the four seasons. Our next stop will be the Château d’Ussé—its slender silhouette seemingly straight out of a fairytale. Veritable treasures are hiding inside.

We’ll return to Ancenis. Our ship will cruise to Nantes overnight.
